I open my email and I see a new email from a new students. He doesn’t say my name, he doesn’t say goodbye and he doesn’t explain what he needs about learning Spanish. I can recognise instantely when is a copy paste email.
Other real case. I enter in my Italki account and I see a new appointment of a new student. It just show that he has booked a lesson but there is any message. I don’t know his name, I don’t know that he needs again; and of course, any «Hola Sergio» or any «adiós».
My reply in both cases is always the same: I pretend that I have not read any email or that I didn’t receive any book for my lessons. And this is key point (el punto clave) de este podcast: be polite with your future teacher… help him or her to give you the best lessons in the world.
And all begins when you take care about who are you talking about. If you show that you are interested in learning Spanish and you explain exactly what you need and how you would like to do it while you are polite with your teacher, I can assure you that he is going also to take care about your leaning process and he is going to put a big effort in you as a student.
